What to Expect


Join Gutsy Girls for our women only Coast to Coast Stand Up Paddleboarding Adventure in Sardinia, an activity filled week spent exploring both west and east coastlines of the island of Sardinia by SUP and by foot. On this week long active holiday, we’ll wind our way along coastal roads, through wine country, discover Sardinia’s best beaches and hike into wild terrains.

We will stand up paddleboard along incredible coastlines, weaving in and out of sea caves, discovering secluded beaches and bays. We’ll paddle on two rivers, through the colourful town of Bosa and into one of the wildest regions in Europe.

We’ll hike shepherds’ trails, discover ancient dwellings known as Nuraghi, swim at a secluded beach, camp on isolated spots, and meet local shepherds as we stay in their shelters along the coast.

Staying in a combination of 3 star hotels, agriturismo (traditional farm houses) and camping in tree hammock tents in a birch forest and a sea cave. The expedition style holiday will take you into the wildest locations, off the tourist radar, you’ll be hosted by local families and shepherd’s for an immersive and unique experience.



Each day we will discover a new part location by SUP, we’ll follow dramatic coastlines and meandered along rivers through wild terrains.

We do recommend you’ve paddleboarded before to join this adventure, however no problem if you’re a beginner. On day one we’ll have great coaching to get you ready for the week of adventures!


We’ll be hiking into incredible wild location, hiking on ancient shepherd’s trails and discovering some of the most remote locations in Sardinia. As this trip is filled with activities, we do ask our guests to have a good level of fitness, to get the most from the experience.  

Yoga and SUPYoga

Our fantastic yoga instructor Lohere will lead yoga sessions in incredible locations throughout the week. The dynamic vinyasa style is perfectly suited for all levels, tailored to the individual, it’s perfect for reconnecting us with the breath, stretching out tired muscles whilst improving strength and balance. We’ll enjoy several SUPyoga sessions on crystal clear, warm waters. We’ll test our balance and learn new postures on the paddleboard.


As this trip takes us from West to East, we’ll stay in a variety of accommodation, including comfortable 3 star hotels with spacious and airy rooms, agriturismos (traditional farm houses) for an authentic experience and lastly tree hammock tents under the stars. We’ll set up eco-friendly Tentsile camp in a sea cave, falling asleep to the sound of the sea lapping on the beach and amongst the trees in our forest camp location. 


This week is all about immersing ourselves into Sardinian life, we’ll be sampling delicious traditional dishes, using lean cuts of meat, fresh fish and locally grown produce. We’ll eat at both local restaurants and be hosted by local families for an authentic experience. 


We couldn’t visit Sardinia without exploring the local vineyards and wine cellars, throughout the week we’ll have wine tastings, sampling fantastic local wines and meeting the local producers. 





We’ll pick you up from the Algerho Airport, taking the 40km scenic coastal road that connects Alghero to Bosa. It will be our first taste of where we’ll be exploring this coming week.

Our first base will be Bosa, the picture perfect Sardinian town, with pastel colour houses stacked along the river side with the Malaspina Castle looking down from the hillside.

We’ll check into the hotel and have a chance to unwind before wondering the cobblestone streets of Bosa. We’ll end our city walk at Cantina for a wine tasting of Malvasia di Bosa DOC, a rare fortified wine.

In the early evening we’ll return for a quick briefing on the week ahead from your local guides and Gutsy Girl host, before a delicious welcome dinner of Sardinian Cuisine.


We’ll start our morning with a Yoga session followed by a group breakfast at the hotel before our first adventure of the holiday. 

Today we’ll paddle along the west coastline, discovering beautiful secluded beaches, weaving in and out of sea caves. There’s an opportunity to cliff jump for the brave and plenty of stops for swimming in crystal clear waters.

Our guide will offer great SUP coaching, to build your confidence and paddling technique ready for the week with longer paddles. 

After lunch at a local beach restaurant, we’ll jump back on the boards for a SUPyoga session. 

We’ll return to Bosa in the late afternoon, with free time before a delicious dinner indulging in great food.

After breakfast we’ll paddle the Temo river the only navigable river in Sardinia. It runs through the heart of Bosa. Said to be one of the most beautiful towns on the Mediterranean coastline, we’ll take in the sights of Bosa from the water, with it’s pastel coloured houses stacked alongside the river. 

We’ll stop for lunch at a local food truck, for an authentic taste of Sardinian food. 

After lunch we’ll pack up at the hotel and check out of our rooms, today we’ll be moving to a new a new location on the East Coast of Sardinia. 

We’ll drive along the rugged road that connects Bosa to Dorgali, expect stunning views through the Supramonte, the mountain range in central Sardinia, to the Ogliasta area a real gem set between the sea and mountains. After centuries of isolation this location is gifted with fascinating traditions and we’ll have the unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture. 

Ogliastra boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, nature paradises to be reached by SUP or long treks.

Morning Yoga

Breakfast at the Agriturismo, then we will start our adventure of the day.

Today we’ll SUP in one of the wildest regions in Europe. We’ll paddle on the River Cedrino, that flows through the heart of the Supramonte mountain range. We’ll meander along this wide river, surrounded by the lush green mountains..

In the late afternoon you’ll finish the trip back to the Neulè Agriturismo and indulge in wine and dinner at a local home restaurant.



Breakfast at the Agriturismo, then we will start our adventure of the day.

Today we will hike one of the wildest regions in Europe, passing high plateaus, oak forests and spectacular ridges high above sea level.

With its 500 meters of height, the Gorropu Gorge is the tallest gorge in Europe. Hiking along its river bed, is a truly humbling experience, to feel so small in such a grand landscape. We’ll hike for 4 hours, 2 to get to the remote location and 2 hours exploring the gorge.

In the late afternoon we’ll finish the trip to the Neulè Agriturismo, indulge in wine and dinner at a local home restaurant.

Group breakfast and then we’ll check out of our accommodation.

After a short transfer, we’ll load our boards with supplies for a night in the wild. We’ll paddle along the coast line to Cala Luna one of the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia.

It is located in the gulf of Orosei, just south of Dorgali, near Cala Gonone village. Set against a backdrop of steep limestone cliffs and lush greenery, its turquoise and azure blue waters are clear like crystal, making it one of the best snorkeling beaches of Sardinia.

Tonight we will camp in a beach cave, this wild and isolated location offers a great spot for yoga on the beach before dinner in the cave.

We’ll stargaze around the campfire and enjoy an evening cut off from the world.


We will start our day with a morning yoga at sunrise, in the cave looking out over the ocean.

After breakfast we’ll jump on our boards for a SUP session and SUPYoga. We’ll have time to relax and enjoy our remote location before packing up camp.

In the evening we’ll start trekking in the shepherds’ part of Sardinia, we will arrive at pinnettu – a circular shepherd's hut made from stone and silvery juniper branches.

Together we’ll set up an eco-friendly Tentsile camp in the Birch Forest, setting up our hammock tents for a night under the stars.

Experience the warm culture of the Sardinian Shepherds and a traditional dinner.


After breakfast you’ll pack up and venture along the rugged coastline that connects Cala Gonone to Olbia to take in the beautiful landscapes that have been our home for the week.

Drive back to Alghero

We’ll be staying in a lovely 3 star hotel in Bosa, Traditional farm houses and tents (including hammock tents).

We can only offer shared tents and twin rooms for this experience


We can accommodate for all dietary needs, however as we will be staying eating with local families, vegan and veggie diets can be limiting on this experience.

Our experiences are created with solo female travellers in mind, connecting likeminded women through sports, nature and adventure. The Gutsy Girls community is filled with bold and badass women from 18-60 years old, we never ask your age, just that you are up for an adventure! 

As a rough guide, most Gutsy Girls guests are 24-60 years olds, with around 60% in their 30s-40s. After a day the learning to surf, hiking to peaks for incredible views or exploring remote locations by paddleboard everyones ages merge together, all connected by their experiences.
