Types of Skiing Explained: Alpine, Nordic, Touring & SkateMeet our hosts
Most adventure trips give you a guide. On ours, you get a host as well.
Every detail is worked out long before you land. Once you’re there, she’s the one making it happen, keeping the group together and the day moving, so nobody else has to, and everyone gets to switch off.
SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO
Your host removes the mental load of the trip. She’ll arrange the day-to-day logistics, so you always know what’s happening, what you need and where you’re going.
If you need anything, your host will fix it. Whether there’s an issue with your room or a missing bag, she’s there to solve and sort.
As the official face of Gutsy Girls, your host will naturally be your group leader. She’ll round everyone up (making sure no one gets left behind) so you can just relax.
All our hosts are very intuitive when it comes to group energy and dynamics. The goal is for everyone to feel included and part of the group, and she’ll make that happen.
If you’re a solo traveller, you’re guaranteed at least one new friend! Your host will help you feel comfortable and make meeting the group relaxed and easy.
Having that on-the-ground Gutsy Girl means we get first-hand feedback. We are detail-obsessed, and our hosts help us keep these standards high.
Our Hosts
Our hosts are great with people. It’s what turns a group of strangers into a group of friends by day two.
Between them there’s a lot of travel and a lot of time outdoors. Some come from corporate, some run their own businesses, some are doing the school run the week before they fly.
Every one of them knows how it feels to learn something new in front of women she’s only just met.

Your go-to girls
On becoming a host: “What a great opportunity to travel and meet like-minded, amazing women. I really believe in the ethos of Gutsy Girls and love the idea of encouraging women to step outside their comfort zone and try something new. Hosting is also great for personal development and to improve communication and troubleshooting skills when faced with challenging scenarios.”
On how it feels to host: “The magic that happens when you bring a group of women together, that energy is just incredible. Honestly, sometimes it feels like I’m getting more out of the experience than I’m giving. I leave every trip feeling so empowered, inspired, and uplifted. The locations have, moreover, blown me away—beyond anything I ever imagined. It’s like double the magic.”
On why she keeps coming back: “I love feeling part of a community of supportive, encouraging, empowering, challenging and inclusive women. I get to travel, try new activities, laugh (a lot), challenge myself, eat great food, support exceptional people (guests, guides, colleagues) and am motivated to keep healthy, strong and fit for whatever new adventure may come my way.”
On her favourite trip: “It has to be the Finland Halti XC Ski trip, the arctic tundra is a magically peaceful place. Skiing between wilderness huts, pulling everything you need with you, offers a rare taste of self-sufficiency in an otherwise convenient world. Living and moving together as a team creates a special bond within the group. It’s the perfect balance between expedition and holiday.”
On the moments she remembers: “You know that moment when you clock something funny and realise others are laughing too, then everyone starts belly laughing together? That spontaneous, shared joy is something I always take away from trips. Every trip is so much more than a great holiday; it’s the genuine connection through laughter, shared stories and the sense of freedom from being out in nature that I bring home each time.”
