FAQs
Not necessarily. Each trip lists a difficulty level so you know exactly what you’re signing up for. Some are built for complete beginners, others assume you’ve done a bit before. Check the level on the trip page — and if you’re still not sure, just ask us.
Every trip has a skill rating on its page, from beginner-friendly to more demanding days out. We tell you what to expect: hours per day, terrain, fitness needed. No guessing games.
Then this is a great place to start. Our guides are used to working with first-timers, and there’s no competition, no egos — just decent coaching and a group who are all figuring it out together.
Depends on the trip. Specialist kit (think skis, climbing gear, snowshoes) is usually provided; personal kit (boots, layers) is down to you. Each trip page and trip guide info tells you exactly what’s included.
It varies by trip, so check the fitness level for specifics. As a rule, you don’t need to be an athlete, but you do need a decent baseline fitness to enjoy the week rather than survive it. We won’t sugarcoat what’s ahead.
Our trips aren’t ones where you can turn up and wing it — you need to arrive fit and ready for the challenge. We’re upfront about the fitness level required on each trip page, so you know exactly what you’re taking on before you book. The training is on you; once you’re there, your guide will support you through it.
Yes. Qualified local guides lead every activity, whether you’re picking up a new skill or brushing up on one. Instruction is included as standard, not an add-on.
Depends on the trip. On point-to-point routes — a hut-to-hut hike or a ski expedition, say — the group’s moving on regardless, so skipping a day isn’t really an option. On trips with more flexibility, if a day’s activity isn’t for you, tell your host and we’ll figure out what works.
Included, unless we tell you otherwise. Our pricing is upfront — no hidden extras beyond optional add-ons you choose yourself.
Guides make the call on the day based on safety and conditions. If plans change, we’ll have an alternative ready — the goal is to make the most of the day, whatever the weather throws at us.
