Types of Skiing Explained: Alpine, Nordic, Touring & SkateThe Gutsy Girls Community
A small, like-minded group of women is at the heart of every Gutsy Girls trip. There’s no ego, no competition, just solo women travellers coming together for an adventure.
Go on, try something new
Our trips are built around active travel, and the women who want to do it with company. The women who book are here to:
Bringing solo travellers together
That's when our founder, Nat, started Gutsy Girls.
We love bringing women together.
Guests have a great time and that's what we're here for.
Proper active adventures
Meet your new group chat
We keep groups small, so it’s easy to get to know each other. Your Gutsy Girls host handles the logistics, so nobody has to organise anything and the group can focus on the adventure. If you want to bring a friend, you can book in groups of two or three.
We’ve got you covered
Yes! We encourage you to book solo; over 95% of our guests join our adventure holidays on their own. We aim to bring together like-minded women for new friendships. We are a very friendly bunch, and love getting to know new Gutsy Girls.
The Gutsy Girls community is filled with fun and friendly women from all stages of life, and they all have one thing in common – they love an adventure. Typically, we’re joined by busy women looking for low-effort organisation, and adventurous types whose usual mates can’t make a trip. The majority of our guests are in their 30s and 40s, though we regularly have women in their 20s, 50s and 60s.
You must be over 18 to join a Gutsy Girls adventure, but after that age is not an issue. All we ask is that you’re up for the challenge, and ready for some long days.
Gutsy Girls was founded by Nat in 2017. Since then, Nat and the team have organised over 500 trips for over 4000 women, so they know a fair bit about planning adventures that people enjoy.
We don’t share personal details about other guests, but every group is a mix of ages and backgrounds, and almost everyone is travelling solo.
Yes, we’ll put you in touch with the group before the trip. You’re welcome to travel together or meet up if your travel arrangements line up.
Yes, you can book in groups of two or three. This is capped because our adventures are designed for solo travellers. A larger friend group tends to become its own unit within the group, which changes the week for everyone else. If you have a bigger group who want to go on an adventure, you can book a private group trip.
Being with a group all week is a lot for anyone, and you’re not expected to be on the whole time. You don’t have to talk your way round a hike, a paddle or a ski, so most days have quiet stretches built in without anyone arranging them. Evenings tend to be relaxed. Take yourself off when you want to, and no one will bat an eyelid.
Women from all over the world join our adventures, many from the UK and Europe, but we often have women join us from the USA and beyond. We welcome all Gutsy Girls, no matter where you’re from! Prices are listed in GBP, but that’s just because we’re a UK company; anyone can join.
Of course! We want to connect you with like-minded women and hopefully make new friends during the trip. We’ll introduce you to the group beforehand, and afterwards you’re more than welcome to stay in contact.
Everyone on the trip made the same slightly bold decision, to book an active week away on their own. That is a fair bit of common ground before anyone has said a word. You’ll find your people within a day or two, and you don’t need to find all of them.
Slowly, and without anyone forcing it. You’ll be in a group chat before the trip, so you’ll have swapped a few messages by the time you meet. After that it happens over dinner, on the walk, on the chairlift. No icebreakers, and you won’t need your two truths and a lie. Your host keeps an eye out so nobody is left on their own, and that’s about the extent of the organising.
We don’t want anyone feeling left out or not part of the group, and our hosts help to make sure this is the case. Your host handles the logistics and is your go-to girl for anything that comes up, so the rest of the group can relax. There are no mean girls or cliques, just a great group of women getting to know each other.
