The Tena Valley cuts deep into the Spanish Pyrenees, creating glacial cirques and hanging valleys perfect for day adventures. From your Biescas base, shepherds' paths lead to mountain lakes, canyon ledges, and summit views - all doable as daily challenges.

Glacial lakes worth the climb

These high-altitude lakes formed 12,000 years ago and reward tough uphill slogs with mountain reflections and alpine scenery. Water temperatures rarely hit 15°C even in August.

Aragonese mountain life

Your base maintains authentic Aragonese character with family-run restaurants serving hearty mountain fare and local specialties. Thermal springs bubble up from the ground for post-adventure soaks in the hotel spa, while traditional bars stay open late for evening wine and conversation with locals.

Afternoon After a scenic transfer to the village of Biescas, we'll check into our accommodation for the week. Once settled, we'll gather for a trip briefing - everything you need to know about the days ahead.

Evening Welcome dinner at a local village restaurant. Time to meet your group and fuel up for the week ahead.

Morning We ease into the adventure with a hike to Ibon de Piedrafita, a mountain lake tucked beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Sierra de Partacua.

Afternoon The trail winds through quiet woodlands and alpine meadows, with views across the Valle de Tena that'll make you stop in your tracks.

Evening Back to base, tired legs and all. Spa time and then dinner at a local restaurant.

Morning Today's circular route takes us to the summit of Punta del Pacino, smack in the heart of the valley. We'll hike through alpine meadows and ancient beech forests before the final push to the top.

Afternoon At the summit, you'll be rewarded with 360-degree views with dozens of peaks stretching out in every direction. 

Evening Downtime to explore the town or hit the sauna, then dinner.

Morning Breakfast, then make your sandwich and grab your pack lunch. A 20-minute drive gets us to Panticosa, where the gondola whisks us 700 metres up the mountain so we start high above the village.

Afternoon Two options from the top: there and back, taking the gondola down, or the full circuit hiking all the way back to the village. Either way, it's a great hike with big views, and your legs will know about it by the end.

Morning Welcome to the Ordesa Valley — a kilometre-deep canyon framed by towering cliffs and a ring of 3,000-metre peaks, including Monte Perdido. We take a bouncy 4x4 taxi ride up to the canyon rim, where the hike begins.

Afternoon Walking along the edge of the valley, we'll cross through high-altitude meadows to the even deeper Añisclo Canyon. The final stop is a viewpoint that'll leave you speechless. 

Evening Our last dinner together in the Pyrenees. Time to reflect on the week, swap stories, and savour the moment.

Morning Final breakfast together, then we say goodbye to the Pyrenees and transfer back to Zaragoza for onward travel.
