Sardinia Multi-activity Adventure
Travel Information
-
Flights aren’t included in your trip, but we’ve listed an option that aligns with the group transfer to make planning easier.
These aren’t official recommendations, just helpful examples. You can book any flight that fits the schedule, but transfers run on time and can’t be delayed.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.
Suggested Flights:
London to Olbia - Easyjet
Departure: LGW 12:35 ✈ OLB 16:10 | EZY8345
Return: OLB 11:30 ✈ LGW 13:00 | EZY8344Not sure if your flight works? Just ask — we’re happy to help.
-
Think of the transfer like a train: it runs on time and can’t be delayed.
You are welcome to get any flight that arrives in time to make the transfer. We have guests join us from all around the world, so don’t recommend flights, however do suggest an option that aligns with our transfer.
Please note, if your flight is late or cancelled, you’ll need to make your own way to the start location, but we’ll support you with local transport information on the day.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.
-
Yes - a group transfer is included on both the arrival and departure days. This is a shared transfer, running at fixed times to and from a designated location (usually an airport or train station).
There is one transfer each way, and your flight must match the timings. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to make your own arrangements.
Arrival: 17:10 at Olbia Airport
Departure: 9:30 at Olbia Airport
The group transfer is included in your trip package. There is no discount if you choose not to use it.
-
Missed transfers are rare, but we want to be upfront so you can plan with confidence.
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to meet the group. We’ll support you as best we can.
However, even if you booked a flight from our Suggested Flights, group transfers run on schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.
In some locations, arranging a private transfer is straightforward, but in more remote areas, it can be limited and expensive. That’s why comprehensive travel insurance is essential, not only for delays and cancellations, but also in case you need to cancel your trip before departure. Make sure your insurance covers travel delays and missed connections, it could save you a significant amount if things don’t go to plan.
-
You should buy comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book your trip. not just before you travel. This ensures you’re covered in case you need to cancel before departure, as well as for any unexpected issues while you’re away.
Your policy should include cover for:
Travel delays and missed connections
Trip cancellation
Medical emergencies and evacuation
Baggage and equipment loss
All activities included in your itinerary
Travel insurance is a requirement for joining any Gutsy Girls trip, and it’s your responsibility to check that your policy includes the kind of adventure you've signed up for, especially outdoor or sporting activities.
Booking your insurance early gives you peace of mind and protects your trip from the very start.
-
Yes, private transfers can be arranged at an additional cost. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.
-
If you can swing it, absolutely. It’s a Mediterranean gem that brings you both Italian charm and island life, complete with old towns, fresh seafood and incredible views.
Accommodation & Food
-
You'll be sleeping in a traditional Albergo Diffuso in the heart of a village. It's clean, comfortable, and has everything you need after a long day outdoors. No private rooms are available, but you’ll be sharing a twin room with en-suite bathroom with another Gutsy Girl.
-
Yes, towels and hairdryers are provided.
-
No, but honestly, you won't need them. It's only four nights, so pack smart, wear things twice, and embrace the fact that everyone's in the same boat. A bit of trail dust never hurt anyone.
-
Breakfast spreads at the refuge to fuel your day. Lunches are either packed for you or served at a local shepherd's ovile (rustic, no-frills, delicious). Dinners are where it gets good: traditional shepherd feasts under the stars, fresh pasta you've made yourself, and meals at local spots serving proper regional food. Real cooking, real places, zero pretension.
-
We can do vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free, but options will be more limited than you're used to. Unfortunately we can’t cater for vegans on this trip - Sardinian cuisine is built on cheese, meat, and dairy.
If you've got specific needs and want a chat about what's realistic, get in touch before booking. We'd rather talk it through now than have you disappointed (and hungry) later.
Activities
-
You need a solid base level of fitness. Three full days of activity - hiking, e-biking and kayaking - means you're moving your body every day. Nothing extreme, but you should be comfortable being active for several hours and handling a bit of variety.
If you do regular cardio (running, cycling, gym classes) and can manage a few hours of walking without calling it quits, you'll be fine. This isn't a stroll in the park, but it's not Everest either.
Be honest with yourself. The fitter you are, the more you'll enjoy the experience instead of just getting through it.
-
If you're excited about hiking through Europe's deepest canyon, eBiking across wild Sardinian terrain, and kayaking to hidden beaches - all in four days - this is absolutely for you.
If you're hesitant about active days back-to-back, basic accommodation, or getting properly stuck in, this may not be the right option for you. We want you to love every minute of this trip, not spend it wishing you'd chosen something different.
-
Build your cardio with running, cycling, swimming, or long walks. Work on endurance so you're comfortable being active for 4-5 hours at a time.
Leg strength helps, especially for the canyon hike. Squats, lunges, and step-ups will make those climbs and descents much more enjoyable.
Gear & Packing
-
eBikes, kayaks, paddles, life jackets - all the activity gear is sorted. You just need to bring yourself and the right clothing for hiking, biking, and getting on the water.
-
For hiking: Quick-dry layers, hiking trousers or leggings, sturdy walking boots or trail shoes with good grip. The canyon route is rocky and uneven.
For eBiking: Comfortable athletic wear, trainers and layers you can strip off as you warm up. A cap or sunglasses helps too.
For kayaking: Swimwear, quick-dry shorts or leggings, a rash vest or long-sleeve top for sun protection. Water shoes or old trainers you don't mind getting wet (those beaches are pebbly).
Bring a light waterproof jacket for all days as weather can shift, especially near the coast.
-
Yes! You can find a detailed packing list here.
-
Yes, a small daypack (15-20L) for water, snacks, sun protection, and extra layers. Nothing heavy, just the essentials for the day.
-
Nope. Activity gear is provided. You just need appropriate clothing, footwear, and personal items like sun cream and a refillable water bottle.
-
Sturdy walking boots or trail shoes with good grip for the canyon hike as the terrain is rocky and can be slippery near water.
Trainers or cycling shoes for the eBike day.
Water shoes or old trainers for kayaking. Trust us, the beaches are pebbly, and you'll be glad you brought them.
Other
-
Sardinia in summer is beautiful—typically 25°C plus, with plenty of sunshine. Pack layers as weather can shift, and you want to be comfortable whether you're hiking in full sun or paddling along a breezy coastline.
-
Most places take cards, but bring a few euros for personal extras like gelato, drinks and souvenirs.
-
There is no upper age limit for our adventures - we have women from 18 up to over 70 years old join us.
The Gutsy Girls community is filled with fun, friendly and supportive women of all ages. We don’t ask your date of birth when you book, just that you are up for an adventure!
As a rough guide, most Gutsy Girls guests are 24-60 years old, with around 60% in their 30s-40s. After a day learning to ride, mountain biking over the hills, hiking to peaks for incredible views or exploring remote locations by paddleboard and kayak, age becomes irrelevant as we bond over our experiences.
-
Absolutely! Many of our participants join solo, and it’s a great way to meet new, like-minded friends. We’ll connect you with other participants via a WhatsApp group before the trip.
-
Whenever possible we use female instructors and guides, however we can’t always guarantee this, simply because there are fewer female instructors available!
Our first priority is to work with the most highly experienced and considerate instructors and guides, who are patient, friendly and as passionate as we are about building women’s confidence in the outdoors.
Simply due to the ratio of men to women in the outdoors industry, sometimes this means our guides and instructors are male.
We keep a close eye on the feedback our guides receive from our guests as we believe that overall this is more important than their gender. We sincerely hope that as more women are introduced to adventure sports and activities, the amount of female guides and instructors in our industry will increase.
-
If the weather affects the planned activities, we will adjust the itinerary as needed. Safety is our top priority, and we always have backup options for indoor or alternative activities.
-
The itinerary for this trip can be found on the Gutsy Girls website on the relevant page. It is entirely flexible for this trip as we want to provide you the best possible experience around the weather you may have.
Please be flexible with our guides who work hard to ensure we are able to have adventures and stay safe at the same time.
