These aren’t official recommendations — just helpful examples. You can book any flight that fits the schedule, but transfers run on time and can’t be delayed, even if your flight is listed.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.

Think of the transfer like a train: it runs on time and can’t be delayed.
You are welcome to get any flight that arrives in time to make the transfer. However, to make planning easier, we’ve listed some flight times that align with the group transfer. These are not official recommendations though, just helpful examples.
Please note, if your flight is late or cancelled, you’ll need to make your own way to the start location, but we’ll support you with local transport information on the day.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.
-
Yes — a group transfer is included on both the arrival and departure days. This is a shared transfer, running at fixed times to and from a designated location (usually an airport or train station).
There is one transfer each way, and your flight must match the timing. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to make your own arrangements.
Arrival Day:
Ljubljana City Pickup: 09:40
Ljubljana Airport Pickup: 10:10
Lake Bled meeting point: 11:00*
Departure Day:

The group transfer is included in your trip package. There is no discount if you choose not to use it.

Missed transfers are rare, but we want to be upfront so you can plan with confidence.
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to meet the group. We’ll support you as best we can — your host will be your main contact on the day and can help coordinate locally. You can also contact our bookings team, available Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm UK time, though replies may be delayed outside of these hours.
Even if you booked a flight from our Suggested Flights, group transfers run on schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.
In some locations, arranging a private transfer is straightforward — but in more remote areas, it can be limited and expensive. That’s why comprehensive travel insurance is essential, not only for delays and cancellations, but also in case you need to cancel your trip before departure.
Make sure your insurance covers travel delays and missed connections — it could save you a significant amount if things don’t go to plan.
-
You should buy comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book your trip — not just before you travel. This ensures you’re covered in case you need to cancel before departure, as well as for any unexpected issues while you’re away.
Your policy should include cover for:
Travel delays and missed connections
Trip cancellation
Medical emergencies and evacuation
Baggage and equipment loss
All activities included in your itinerary.
Travel insurance is a requirement for joining any Gutsy Girls trip, and it’s your responsibility to check that your policy includes the kind of adventure you've signed up for — especially outdoor or sporting activities.
Booking your insurance early gives you peace of mind and protects your trip from the very start.

We normally paddle in swimwear or sportswear. Remember a hat/cap and a long sleeved top that covers you in the midday heat!
If the conditions are cooler, we will provide a shorty wetsuit. If you have one, you might like to bring your own.
For our white water paddleboarding sessions, we will provide a drysuit/wetsuit and all the safety gear required!
Bring a raincoat just in case.
You'll need aqua shoes or wetsuit booties with a solid sole (not neoprene socks) for getting on and off your board in rocky conditions.
-
Canyoning involves following a mountain river into the gorge’s depths. The entire gorge is an enormous natural toboggan with pools, waterfalls and narrow stone passages. You might descend waterfalls with ropes or leap from ledges into emerald pools. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, and it doesn’t require any prior experience. All you have to do is slide, jump and have fun! Grmečica means “thunder”. The canyon got its name from the sounds the river makes while winding through the narrow canyon. The gorge is unique with its very deep pools, the crystal clear water and its dark walls which create a special atmosphere.
-
We recommend hiking shoes or trail running trainers.
While the terrain will not be too challenging, for your safety and comfort you will need footwear with good grip.
-
You are welcome to opt out of any of our activities.
We do not provide a discount for any activities you do not take part in.
-
In the unlikely event that weather conditions prohibit us from paddling, we will arrange alternative activities - sadly we cannot control the weather but we can keep our fingers firmly crossed!
We will ensure there are fun activities for you to take part in even if the weather is not ideal, but we cannot provide refunds for a change of activities due to weather or other conditions outside our control.
None of our itineraries are set in stone - we will always move things around to make the most of the conditions we have on any given day.

Food & Accomodation
-
With all Gutsy Girls Adventures, we choose comfortable accommodation for a good night's sleep. It is clean, simple and provides us with a base for the evenings. Very little time is spent in the accommodation as we are busy adventuring all day!
For this adventure we'll be staying for two nights at a low-key 3 star family run hotel a short drive from Bohinj Lake, and then for one night at an authentic local farm which produces much of its own food and wine, before the final two nights in the Soca valley at a small family run 3 star hotel right next to the picturesque village square.
You can choose to have a private room throughout or to share a twin room with another Gutsy Girl.
