Think of the transfer like a train: it runs on time and can’t be delayed.
You are welcome to get any flight that arrives in time to make the transfer. However, to make planning easier, we’ve suggested some flight times that align with the group transfer. These are not official recommendations though, just helpful examples.
Please note, if your flight is late or cancelled, you’ll need to make your own way to the start location, but we’ll support you with local transport information on the day.
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.

You don’t have to take the recommended flights, but they’re the best choice for a smooth and stress-free experience.
Arriving at a different time: If your flight doesn’t match our scheduled transfer, you’ll need to arrange a private transfer to Bosa.
Arriving earlier: If you land earlier than the recommended flight, you’re welcome to join our scheduled transfer—just let us know ahead of time!
Delayed flights: We’ll do our best to accommodate any delays, but if your flight is significantly late, the transfer may not be able to wait, and you’ll need to make your own way to Bosa.
Departing later: If your return flight is later, you’re still welcome to use our transfer to the airport, which will arrive in time for the specified flight.
We’re here to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about your travel plans!
-
Yes, you can! Sardinia has three airports: Olbia, Alghero, and Cagliari. We recommend Olbia airport as it offers the most convenient flight options from many UK and European airports. However, you are welcome to fly into a different airport and make your way to Bosa, the base of our adventure.
Alghero: This is the closest airport to Bosa. You can travel using local buses or arrange a private transfer for €80 each way.
Olbia: If your flights to Olbia don’t align with our schedule, a private transfer can be arranged for €160 each way.
Cagliari: While further away, we can arrange a private transfer for €175 each way.
Feel free to choose the airport that works best for you!
-
Missed transfers are rare, but we want to be upfront so you can plan with confidence.
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to meet the group. We’ll support you as best we can. Your host will be your main contact on the day and can help coordinate locally. You can also contact our bookings team, available Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm UK time, though replies may be delayed outside of these hours.
Even if you booked a flight from our Suggested Flights, group transfers run on schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.
Make sure your insurance covers travel delays and missed connections. It could save you a significant amount if things don’t go to plan.

You should buy comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book your trip, not just before you travel. This ensures you’re covered in case you need to cancel before departure, as well as for any unexpected issues while you’re away.
Your policy should include cover for:
Travel delays and missed connections
Trip cancellation
Medical emergencies and evacuation
Baggage and equipment loss
All activities included in your itinerary
Travel insurance is a requirement for joining any Gutsy Girls trip, and it’s your responsibility to check that your policy includes the kind of adventure you've signed up for — especially outdoor or sporting activities.
Booking your insurance early gives you peace of mind and protects your trip from the very start.

-
In the unlikely event that weather conditions prohibit us from paddling, we will arrange alternative activities - sadly we cannot control the weather but we can keep our fingers firmly crossed!
We will ensure there are fun activities for you to take part in even if the weather is not ideal, and we cannot provide refunds for a change of activities due to weather or other conditions outside our control.
None of our itineraries are set in stone - we will always move things around to make the most of the conditions we have on any given day.

A Via Ferrata is a protected climbing route, on which you are attached via a harness, with a variety of steel cable rails, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges and zip wires. Described as halfway between scrambling and rock climbing, Via Ferrata allow non-experienced climbers the opportunity to scale to new heights.
It’s an exciting activity and you do not need previous experience climbing experience, just a head for heights and good fitness.
If you are afraid of heights, we can’t arrange a different activity for you and we do recommend you try it.
There will be opportunities to try small sections of the climb before you commit to the whole experience and we can accommodate you if you decide not to continue. We’ve had many guests who are scared of heights complete the Via Ferrata, finding that the chance to try a bit first and highly trained guides helped them along the route.
In the height of summer, we may need to replace the Via Ferrata with aquatrekking instead if it is too hot to be out on the exposed climbing route all day!
Aquatrekking is a bit like canyoning, where we explore a mountain river by walking, jumping, swimming and sliding in the river stream. It’s a great hot weather activity!

We will always do our utmost to accommodate your dietary needs but we kindly ask for a level of flexibility or understanding from you.
-
Tap water in Bosa is not drinkable, but we will be able to pick up bottled water at supermarkets and we will do this together on the day we arrive. There are fridges in the hotel rooms to keep water cold.
