Travel Information

  • For each trip date, we offer one ot two transfer times coordinated with our recommended flights.

You’ll find the info below for each trip.

  • Flights aren’t included in your trip, but we’ve listed some options that align with the group transfer to make planning easier.

These aren’t official recommendations, just helpful examples. You can book any flight that fits the schedule, but transfers run on time and can’t be delayed, even if your flight is listed.

    Suggested Flights:

London Gatwick to Olbia Airport - Easyjet

    • Departure: LGW 7:25 ✈ OLB 10:55 | EZY8347

    • Return: OLB 20:55 ✈ LGW 22:20 | EZY8348

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.

Not sure if your flight works? Just ask, we’re happy to help!

  • You are welcome to get any flight that arrives in time to make the transfer. However, to make planning easier, we’ve listed some flight times that align with the group transfer. These are not official recommendations though, just helpful examples.

Please note, if your flight is late or cancelled, you’ll need to make your own way to the start location, but we’ll support you with local transport information on the day.

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and missed connections.

  • Yes, you can! Sardinia has three airports: Olbia, Alghero, and Cagliari. We recommend Olbia airport as it offers the most convenient flight options from many UK and European airports. However, you are welcome to fly into a different airport and make your way to Bosa, the base of our adventure.

    • Alghero: This is the closest airport to Bosa. You can travel using local buses or arrange a private transfer for €80 each way.

    • Olbia: If your flights to Olbia don’t align with our schedule, a private transfer can be arranged for €160 each way.

    • Cagliari: While further away, we can arrange a private transfer for €175 each way.

Feel free to choose the airport that works best for you!

  • Public Transport:

Using public transport to get from Olbia airport to Bosa is very slow and requires many connecting buses. It will likely take you 4-5 hours.

You can use Google Maps to look at bus information.

    Private Transfer (2 hours):

We can arrange a private transfer for 1-3 guests for €170 each way or 4-8 guests for €275 each way.

  • Public Transport:

    • 1h30

    • Travelling to Bosa from Alghero is simple with public transport.

    • You can catch a bus directly from Alghero Airport to Bosa.

    • You will find the timetable for the bus here and on Google Maps

    • Tickets cost 4.30€ each way. Information on buying tickets here

    Private Transfer:

    • 1h15

    • We can arrange a private transfer for 1-3 guests for €80 each way or 4-8 guests for €150 each way

  • Public Transport:

    • Using public transport to get from Cagliari airport to Bosa is very slow and requires many connecting buses. It will likely take you 4-5 hours.

    • You can use Google Maps to look at bus information.

    Private Transfer:

    • 2h15

    • We can arrange a private transfer from Cagliari airport for 1-3 guests for €200 each way or 4-8 guests for €300 each way.

  • We do not provide individual transfers for anyone arriving at different times, so if your flight times do not match up with the transfer times specified above, you will be responsible for making your own way to Bosa.

If you arrive on an earlier flight than our listed one, we will be able to offer you a spot in the transfer from the airport.

HOWEVER if your flight is very delayed, the transfer may not wait for you and you'll need to make your own way to Bosa. If you depart on a later flight, you are welcome to use the transfer to the airport; this will have a drop off time at the airport for the specified flight time.

  • Missed transfers are rare, but we want to be upfront so you can plan with confidence.

If your flight is delayed or cancelled, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to meet the group. We’ll support you as best we can — your host will be your main contact on the day and can help coordinate locally. You can also contact our bookings team, available Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm UK time, though replies may be delayed outside of these hours.

Even if you booked a flight from our Suggested Flights, group transfers run on schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals.

Make sure your travel insurance covers travel delays and missed connections. It could save you a significant amount if things don’t go to plan.

  • The transfer takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

  • Yes, a group transfer is included on both the arrival and departure days. This is a shared transfer, running at fixed times to and from a designated location (usually an airport or train station).

There is one transfer each way, and your flight must match the timing. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to make your own arrangements.

    • Pick-up point: Olbia Airport at 11:55

    • Drop-off point: Olbia Airport at 18:55

The group transfer is included in your trip package. There is no discount if you choose not to use it.

  • It is possible to book a private transfer if your flights do align with our transfer. Please contact the Bookings Team to organise this before you travel.

    • Private Transfer to Olbia (2 hours):

We can arrange a private transfer for 1-3 guests for 160€ each way or 4-8 guests for 200€ each way.

    • Private Transfer to Alghero (1 hour 15 mins):

We can arrange a private transfer for 1-3 guests for 80€ each way or 4-8 guests for 125€ each way

    • Private Transfer to Cagliari (2 hours 15 mins):

We can arrange a private transfer from Cagliari airport for 1-3 guests for 175€ each way or 4-8 guests for 250€ each way.

  • You should buy comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book your trip, not just before you travel. This ensures you’re covered in case you need to cancel before departure, as well as for any unexpected issues while you’re away.

Your policy should include cover for:

    • Travel delays and missed connections

    • Trip cancellation

    • Medical emergencies and evacuation

    • Baggage and equipment loss

    • All activities included in your itinerary

Travel insurance is a requirement for joining any Gutsy Girls trip, and it’s your responsibility to check that your policy includes the kind of adventure you've signed up for, especially outdoor or sporting activities.

Booking your insurance early gives you peace of mind and protects your trip from the very start.

  • We will connect you with others on the trip via WhatsApp before the trip, so you can arrange to meet at the airport before your flight, or join forces in other travel arrangements.

Activities

  • You don't need to be a strong swimmer, but you must be able to swim 100m.

  • Not at all!

Our instructor will be happy to guide you through her sessions.

  • No you do not need any previous experience to join our trips!

  • We provide high quality RedPaddle Sport boards for this adventure.

For ease we ask that you don’t bring your own board.

  • Our hikes and coastal walks on this trip are gentle and not too challenging. The heat in the summer months mean we opt for shorter distances with a chance to swim too!

  • In the unlikely event that weather conditions prohibit us from paddling, we will arrange alternative activities - sadly we cannot control the weather but we can keep our fingers firmly crossed!

We will ensure there are fun activities for you to take part in even if the weather is not ideal, and we cannot provide refunds for a change of activities due to weather or other conditions outside our control.

None of our itineraries are set in stone - we will always move things around to make the most of the conditions we have on any given day.

    Alternative Activities could include:

    • Additional guided hikes

    • Coasteering

    • Aqua-trekking

    • Acroyoga

    • Additional Via Ferrata

    • Yoga workshops

  • Every activity and day is optional. Please let our team know if you would like to skip an activity in advance.

We do not offer discounts, refunds or alternatives for missed activities

  • A Via Ferrata is a protected climbing route, on which you are attached via a harness, with a variety of steel cable rails, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges and zip wires. Described as halfway between scrambling and rock climbing, Via Ferrata allow non-experienced climbers the opportunity to scale to new heights.

It’s an exciting activity and you do not need previous experience or a high level of fitness or strength.

If you are afraid of heights, we can’t arrange a different activity for you and we do recommend you try it.

On a Gutsy Girls trip, you’ll never be forced to do an activity you don’t feel comfortable doing, but we encourage you to approach our adventures with an open mind, and it’s an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone in a supportive environment.

There will be opportunities to try small sections of the climb before you commit to the whole experience and we can accommodate you if you decide not to continue.  There is no pressure for you to complete or join the activity, we will support you no matter what you choose.

We have chosen a route which is the right level of challenging but also still enjoyable. We’ve had many guests who are scared of heights complete the Via Ferrata, finding that the supportive approach of the group and highly trained guides helped them along the route.

In the height of summer, when it is very hot during the day, we may need to replace the Via Ferrata with aquatrekking instead if it is too hot to be out on the exposed climbing route all day!

Aquatrekking is a bit like canyoning, where we explore a mountain river by walking, jumping, swimming and sliding in the river stream. It’s a great hot weather activity!

  • Joining all of our activities are completely optional.

We do not offer discounts, refunds or alternatives for not joining activities.

  • The yoga sessions are primarily focused on Hatha Yoga and Sivananda Yoga.

And yes, we do supply yoga mats for all participants, so there’s no need for anyone to bring their own.

Packing & Clothing

  • Yes! Please check out our packing list here.

  • You must have hiking boots / hiking shoes / trail running trainers with good grip. This is for your safety and comfort.

You will not be allowed to join the Via Ferrata or hikes if you come in trainers without good grip.

You may want a pair of sandals / casual shoes for evening wear!

  • Hopefully we'll have glorious sunshine on all our adventures, so we normally paddle in swimwear or sportswear. Remember a hat/cap and a long sleeved top that covers you in the midday heat!

If the conditions are cooler, we recommend a long john or shorty wetsuit, though this is completely optional!

Bring a rain coat just in case.

Accommodation

  • We will be staying in the Queen House Bosa. It's a 3 star family run hotel in the heart of the old town in Bosa.

The rooms are light, spacious and very comfortable. Rooms have air conditioning and wifi.

All rooms are ensuite, whether you share a twin or have your own private room.

*In the unlikely event that the hotel should change a hotel of a similar standard and quality would be arranged.

We will be spending minimal time in the hotel, it is quiet and very comfortable. Our guests have loved it for its friendly staff and it's everything you'll need for a short escape!

  • You can choose to share with another Gutsy Girl or opt for a private room.

We have very limited private rooms, so we recommend booking early if this is your preference!

Eating & Drinking

  • We can cater for all dietary requirements and we will request information prior to your arrival.

Do be aware that Bosa is not a big tourist destination (that’s why we chose it!), so this does mean that there won’t always be a huge selection of vegan options on menus.

We will always do our utmost to accommodate your dietary needs but we kindly ask for a level of flexibility or understanding from you.

  • Tap water in Bosa is not drinkable, but we will be able to pick up bottled water at supermarkets and we will do this together on the day we arrive. There are fridges in the hotel rooms to keep water cold.

  • Soft drinks will be available at dinner.

We still recommend joining the wine tasting evening as you'll learn plenty about the culture, food and geology of Sardinia.

We do not offer discounts for choosing not to drink.
