Norway Beginner Downhill Skiing Holiday
Please also use the weather forecast here to inform your packing. If it is cold, you will need more layers and warmer outer layers!
We provide:
Skis
Poles
Helmet
Ski boots
Kayak equipment (including dry suit)
What to Bring:
Ski Kit
Base layer thermal tops (a selection) (synthetic, wool or silk)
Long johns (thermal) (synthetic, wool or silk)
High-quality ski socks (merino wool or synthetic blends) - a selection
Fleece or wool jumper (a couple that you can layer up if cold)
Waterproof and windproof ski jacket with insulation or as a shell, depending on conditions and personal preference. Look for features like a snow skirt, adjustable hood, and ventilation zippers.
Ski Trousers / Salopettes: Waterproof and breathable ski salopettes
Sunglasses
Ski goggles
Buff (you might want two - one for your neck, one under your helmet), scarf or balaclava
Ski gloves (two pairs, ideally, in case one gets wet - warm mittens are best if you are prone to getting cold)
Glove liners and/or disposable hand warmers if you suffer from cold hands
20 - 30 litre backpack
Beanie or hat: Wear under your helmet if conditions are especially cold.
Hand Warmers (optional)
Kayaking
1-2 layers of clothes in wool or fleece to wear under dry suit
Warm socks
Warm hat (Make sure it covers ears)
Warm waterproof mittens/gloves (not leather)
Swimwear
Off the Skis
Snow boots or waterproof hiking boots
Casual warm evening clothes
Night wear
Toiletries
Swimwear
Travel towel (for the mobile sauna)
Sunscreen for face and lips (high factor)
Any prescription medication
Other medication (paracetamol/ibuprofen)
Compeed or moleskin for blisters, just in case!
Slippers / clean shoes for the hotel
Flipflops/crocs/sandals/rivershoes or riversocks for the sauna
Other Stuff
Camera
Dry bags for inside your day pack to keep stuff dry
Waterproof case and lanyard for your phone (optional)
Snacks - a selection!
Neoprene booties if you want to ice dip (optional!)
Water bottle (not a camelbak style bladder which will freeze)
If you’re packing light, you could bring soap flakes/wash to hand wash thermals if required
