We do not provide individual transfers for anyone arriving at different times, so if your flight times do not match up with the transfer times specified above, you will be responsible for making your own way to the accommodation.
Please note, if your flight is very delayed, the transfer may not wait for you and you'll also need to make your own way to the accommodation.
-
We provide one group transfer. If you’d like to get a private transfer we can organise this for an additional cost of €150 each way.

Skopje is small, but fascinating. Each corner showcases one of the city’s very different cultural influences, from the old town bazaar to brutalist buildings and oversized statues. Quiet cobbled streets open up into modern squares, whilst the city’s castle offers views down across it all.
It’s also your first stop for authentic Macedonian dishes like Tavče Gravče, Ajvar, Pastrmajlija, as well as sampling some of the country’s incredible wines too.
-
We will connect you with others on the trip via WhatsApp, so you may be able to arrange to travel together.
Accommodation & Food
-
You'll spend the first five nights at a family-run guesthouse on the edge of Galichica National Park, right on the shores of Lake Ohrid. It's rustic, full of character, and the kind of place where you'll eat homemade Macedonian food and watch the sun go down over the lake from the terrace. On night six, you'll move to a cosy mountain resort tucked into the hillside at 1,420m, at the foot of the Jablanica mountain range.

Activities
-
You don't need to be a strong swimmer, but you must be able to swim 100m.
-
No, our instructor will guide you through each session.
-
No you do not need any previous experience to join our trips!
-
No, this is your chance to test an eBike and see what all the hype is about. You do need to be able to ride a bike however.
-
The main difference between an eBike and a “normal” bike is the motor. You still have to peddle and change gears, but the motor helps give a bit of extra oomph to your natural rider power, making things a little easier when you need it most.
-
Our eBikes can carry up to 120kg.
-
A good level of fitness is essential for this trip, as is a willingness to try new things and push yourself in the outdoors. Although rated moderate, you will still be active every day doing different activities and possibly trying new ones on this adventure.
-
We really want every Gutsy Girls to have a go at everything on this trip. However please let your host know if you plan to skip any activity.
We do not offer discounts, refunds or alternatives for missed activities.
-
The wine tasting will be done as part of the meal, but you don’t have to drink. Soft drinks will be available for those who don’t want alcohol.
Please note we do not offer discounts if you choose not to participate.
Gear & Packing
-
Yes! You can find a detailed packing list here.
-
Yes, a 15-20-litre daypack is ideal for carrying layers, snacks, water, and essentials.
-
The later summer months in North Macedonia are still quite warm, however temperatures in the mountain will drop in the evening, so light layers may be best. Check the forecast before you go and adjust accordingly.
Other
-
Yes. Although most shops and restaurants will accept cards, your base hotel for this trip only takes cash. Although North Macedonia uses the Macedonian denar (MKD), you can pay for things at the hotel in euros. However, we recommend bringing small notes as you’ll receive any change in MKD.
-
There’s no upper age limit for our adventures - our Gutsy Girls community welcomes women of all ages. We never ask your age at the time of booking, only that you’re active, fit and ready for the challenge.
Guests do have to be over 18 however to join our trips.
-
Absolutely! We’d love for you to join us solo!
Over 95% of our guests come on their own, and we’re all about helping you connect with like-minded adventurers. It’s a warm, welcoming vibe—come as you are, we can’t wait to meet you and make some amazing memories together!
-
At Gutsy Girls, our top priority is working with guides and instructors who embody our values—passionate, experienced, and dedicated to building women’s confidence in the outdoors. While we aim to have female guides wherever possible, the reality is there are fewer women in the industry, so occasionally, we work with male instructors.
We carefully select those who are patient, friendly, and highly skilled, always keeping track of the feedback from our guests. We’re excited to see the number of female instructors grow as more women take to adventure sports!
-
If the weather doesn’t play ball, we’ll adjust the plan accordingly. Safety is always our top priority, and we’ve got plenty of indoor or alternative activities lined up, just in case. You’re in safe hands!
