Arctic winter in Lofoten means proper cold. Come prepared for freezing conditions, but also those crisp, clear days when the landscape reveals why you made the journey.

What to Bring:
Activities
Waterproof, insulated hiking boots with sturdy soles
Breathable waterproof shell jacket (hiking jacket ideal)
Soft shell winter hiking trousers (windproof, water-repellent, breathable)
Warm packable down/insulated jacket
Multiple lightweight base layers - Merino wool or synthetic, NOT cotton (cotton isn't breathable and is cold when wet)
Long johns or fleece-lined leggings
Fleece or wool jumper mid-layer(s)
Warm hat
Buff (bring two - one for neck, one as headband)
Thick gloves/mittens (two pairs in case one gets wet)
Glove liners
Wool socks in different thicknesses
Sunglasses
Small 20L backpack with waterproof cover
Swimwear (couple of sets for spa)
Yoga wear if attending sessions

Extra warm clothes for the horseriding
