Brenta Dolomites Via Ferrata Grand Tour

You will be at a high altitude for most of the trip and even in good weather it can still be pretty cold up high, even in midsummer. Therefore a down jacket, gloves, hat and/or some warmer layers are required.What to Bring:

Hiking kit:

  • Hiking boots with ankle support. Make sure that your boots are well worn in and blisters aren’t going to spoil your holiday. 

  • 40-45 litre backpack with waterproof cover (or waterproof backpack liner) for carrying between huts

  • A range of lightweight, breathable layers that can be easily added or removed to suit changing conditions:

    • Quick dry t-shirts

    • Long sleeve lightweight t-shirts for sun protection

    • Warmer thermal base layer (merino wool recommended)

    • Lightweight fleece or mid-layer

    • A breathable, waterproof and windproof shell jacket

    • A light packable insulated / down jacket for stops and evenings at altitude

  • Summer hiking trousers or leggings

  • Hiking shorts

  • A selection of hiking socks

  • Sunglasses

  • Sun hat / cap

  • Warm hat & gloves -  essential in the high mountains as it can get cold

  • Buff 

  • Waterproof trousers - optional but very useful in case of rain. 

  • Hiking poles - optional. You can borrow a set, just let us know

Evenings:

  • Casual evening clothes

  • Night wear

  • Toiletries

  • Any prescription medication 

  • Compeed or moleskin for blisters, just in case!

  • Slippers / shoes for the hotel and Mountain Hut

Swimming:

  • Swimsuit

  • Flip flops or sandals/water shoes

Other Stuff:

  • Sleeping bag liner

  • Sunscreen (high factor) and lip salve

  • Quick dry towel 

  • Waterproof phone case (optional)

  • Ear plugs & eye mask  - for nights in the shared mixed dorm (optional)

  • Camera 

  • Dry bags for inside your day pack to keep stuff dry

  • Snacks

  • Water bottles/Camelback - you need to be able to carry at least two litres of water with you. You can refill water at huts but NOT on route.

  • Other medication eg. paracetamol/ibuprofen, Magnesium

  • Electrolytes

  • Tick removal device

  • Insect repellent

  • Headtorch

  • Cash for drinks/snacks

  • European plug adaptor and phone charger (you can charge phones at the huts)
