Icelandic Horse Riding Adventure
Please use the weather forecast here to inform your packing. If it is cold, you will need more layers and warmer outer layers!
Do not bring any of your own horse riding clothes, boots or hat. There are no infectious horse diseases in Iceland, which makes the breed highly vulnerable to any foreign germs and bacteria.
We Provide:
Horse riding helmet
Oversuit if it gets too cold
What to Bring:
Clothes - Riding:
Hiking shoes or boots
Soft comfortable hiking trousers or leggings (nothing with a hard inside seam as this can rub)
Warm socks (hiking socks are good)
Wind and waterproof jacket
Warm coat
Gloves for riding - with a grippy palm (new riding gloves, cycling or leather gloves all work)
Buff/Scarf
Warm hat for when at the stables
Warm base layers
T-shirts - lightweight and fast drying if the weather is warm
Fleece or jumper
Buff
Other Clothes:
Relaxed evening clothes (No horse riding kit)
Slippers - no outdoor shoes to be worn in the hotel
Swimming costume
Extra warm layers for whale watching
Personal:
Water bottle
Toiletries
Personal medication
Daypack for bringing snacks, water and layers to and from the stables (you won’t bring much on the rides with you)
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Insect repellentThermos for hot drinks (optional)
Snacks
Compeed or moleskin for blisters, just in case!
Zip bags (for storing smelly horse riding kit in your suitcase)
