It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I put my face on Instagram stories.

It’s something I’ve never felt comfortable doing, I’m pretty camera shy and like most of us I have my insecurities 🙈 I always wanted Gutsy Girls to be about you, our community, the women who inspire me every day!

I never set out to be an ‘influencer/public figure’ there are lots of incredible women inspiring others in this way 🙌

For me, Gutsy Girls was about creating a space where you stop thinking/dreaming about doing things and just getting out there and doing it! Action above aspiration!👈𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯.

After asking you about your barriers to adventure there were some that I felt would be best be discussed; with my face.

The unedited, fast-talking, mistake-making, coffee-fuelled face. My hopes that by letting you get to know me a bit better I’d remove some of the intimidation out of being part of Gutsy Girls.

‘Not being cool enough’ was one barrier that came up several times!

I would 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 consider myself cool and I’m sure my brothers and friends would agree! Please don’t see this as the need to tell me I’m cool, being 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭 is something I’m now comfortable with at the age of 33 ✌️

I struggled with imposter syndrome when starting Gutsy Girls, how could I be ‘The Founder’ when I was a beginner at so many of the sports and hadn’t done some epic challenge to share!

🌱 I’ve become more comfortable with my lack of skills, we’ve all gotta start somewhere, why not start alongside you ➕ We work with incredible guides and instructors who are the pros 🙌 So I can focus on facilitating a space that’s welcoming, supportive and fun.

The outdoors and adventure does have an air of coolness to it and I hope to remove that within Gutsy Girls!

❗️This just one small part of our big discussions & actions making the outdoors more inclusive and welcoming!

This is my invitation to come as you are. You are welcome here. You CAN sit with us. Always.
