Why We’ve Chosen Cross Country Skiing as Our Winter Sport for 2020

In January we hosted our very first snow adventure, the past 2 years we’ve focused on getting you to beautiful remote locations!

Creating wild adventures that fill your annual leave with activities that challenge, excite and push you out of your comfort zone.

After a whole summer of researching, pondering and planning, cross country skiing was what I choose to pursue as a new Gutsy Girl Adventure Sport!

Location

Gutsy Girls adventures get your off the tourist track, discovering beautiful remote locations and not just ticking off destinations from a bucket list.

Cross Country Skiing opens up new wilderness spaces to explore, getting from resorts, crowds and really immersing yourseleves in nature!

We’ve choose Venabydsfjellet, the snow covered mountain plateau on the edge of Rondane National Park, in the heart of Norway. With over 140km marked and prepared trails, there’s a whole host of adventures to be had in this snowy paradise!

Quick Progression

Our adventures are created for complete beginners through to experienced hikers, paddleboarders, surfers, climbers. We focus on fantastic coaching no matter your level, sparking a new passion in you and progressing your skills during your time with us!

Cross Country Skiing offers a quick learning curve, after just 1 day strapped to your skis you’ll be moving effectively along the tracks. It’s a great sport to try on a weekend or spend a whole week developing your technique!

Oh and there’s still thrilled and laughs to be had going down hill too!

Active

You know that tired, relaxed and happy feeling after a long active day in the fresh air?

Where your body feels worked, your cheeks are rosy and your ready for bed at 9pm after a mountain of food?

Yep. That feeling is guaranteed after a day cross country skiing!

Luckily our fantastic hotel in Norway has an incredible chef, food on this adventure is outstanding!

The physical aspect of cross country skiing is super rewarding, if your a technique geek like me (rowers, cyclers, I’m looking at you) Cross country skiing is super satisfying, when you get that perfect glide….

Winter Experiences

We have included extra activities to fill your holiday with unforgettable experiences in the snow. On our week long Cross Country Ski and Yoga Retreat, we’ve added husky sledding and snow shoeing too!


Cross Country Ski and Yoga Retreat | 15th - 22nd March

We are super excited about our week long adventure this March, a whole week filled with cross country skiing, yoga, snow shoeing and dog sledding.

Perfect for complete beginners or those who have a limited experience and are ready to push themselves on longer day tours.
